Global Wakili
Built for Kenyan regulation
Kenyan firms answer to rules on client money, tax invoicing and personal data. Global Wakili is designed around those rules, and this page explains how.
Trust accounting
Advocates holding client money are expected to keep it separate, account for it per client and reconcile it regularly. Global Wakili is built around those requirements: per-client sub-accounts, three-way reconciliation and blocking of any payment that would overdraw a client.
Whether a firm's trust accounting meets its professional obligations depends on how the firm operates its accounts. The platform provides the controls and the records; the firm and its auditors remain responsible for compliance.
Tax invoicing
Firms registered for eTIMS need invoices submitted to KRA. Global Wakili submits paid invoices to eTIMS and stamps the returned control number and QR code on the invoice, so the invoice the client receives is the one KRA has recorded.
Personal data
Law firms process a great deal of personal data. The platform has been designed with the Data Protection Act, 2019 in mind: access is limited by role, data is encrypted, sensitive fields are redacted before external AI calls and actions are logged.
